Arrested IS suspect was set for another attack

Suicide bomber Mehmet Öztürk has blown himself up in the heart of Taksim where 4 people were killed and 36 were injured. Erkan Ç. was arrested for alleged links with the bomber in Gaziantep.

Gaziantep Governorate made a written statement on March 25, underscoring a tip-off that the suspect Erkan Ç. was set to attack UN buildings, cafes owned by Kurdish citizens, security officers and tourists in Turkey.

Erkan Ç. was in contact with suicide bomber Öztürk, the statement of the Governorate explained.
